Tangibl originated and raised development funding for a series of small gas-fired generation projects in the shale-gas regions of PJM, with a specific focus on designing and implementing a reciprocating engine array. These projects were strategically located to take advantage of the abundant natural gas supply in the region, ensuring both operational efficiency and environmental compliance. Tangibl worked closely with the project development team to provide comprehensive engineering support throughout the entire development process, offering critical guidance on everything from engine providers to emissions control systems.
Our engineering expertise extended to power system modeling, where we conducted detailed load flow simulations. These simulations helped us accurately estimate the cost allocations for network upgrades, which were essential for integrating the reciprocating engine array into the existing infrastructure. This allowed us to identify potential challenges early and develop strategies for overcoming them.
In addition to engineering, Tangibl successfully managed the PJM process for 25-30 interconnection requests. This process resulted in the successful execution of 12 Interconnection Agreements, positioning the projects for long-term success. Tangibl also represented the project companies at PJM, addressing critical ISO and FERC regulatory matters, and worked on developing a bidding strategy for the PJM Capacity Auction to optimize project profitability.
A key differentiator for Tangibl is our ability to self-perform many of the essential functions needed to bring these projects to fruition. Unlike many project developers, we handle site identification, securing off-take agreements, fuel supply management, and construction contract negotiations in-house. This end-to-end approach ensures that the projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
