This expansion is largely driven by state-mandated energy storage initiatives across the FERC-jurisdictional U.S., including the implementation of FERC Orders 841 & 845. These orders promote more integrated and enhanced energy storage participation in all wholesale markets and ensure more equitable treatment during the interconnection process. As renewable energy sources like solar and wind continue to grow, the need for efficient energy storage solutions becomes more critical to grid stability.
Tangibl provided expert technical guidance and project support to a large distribution utility in the northeastern U.S. for a battery energy storage pilot project mandated by the state’s environmental regulator. Our involvement included assisting with site selection, specifying power and energy configuration, and managing the RFI and RFP processes to select a turnkey provider for the battery energy storage system. The project is currently awaiting final regulatory approval for deployment, marking an important step in the utility’s efforts to integrate advanced storage technologies.
