Battery energy storage is an emerging technology projected to see significant growth through 2030. This growth is supported through a combination of state-mandated energy storage initiatives across the FERC-jurisdictional U.S. including implementations of FERC Orders 841 & 845, which mandate more integrated and enhanced energy storage participation in all wholesale markets along with more equitable treatment during the interconnection process.
Tangibl provided technical guidance and project support to a large distribution utility in the northeastern U.S. for a battery energy storage pilot project mandated by their state environmental regulator. We assisted with site selection along with specification of power and energy configuration and managed the RFI and RFP processes for selecting a turnkey provider of the battery energy storage system. The project is currently pending regulatory approval for final deployment.
As stated previously, Tangibl self-performs key functions such as site identification and control, PPA origination and negotiation, technology and vendor evaluation, equipment and construction contract negotiations, electric transmission network analysis, interconnection studies, and project engineering. Also, Tangibl is very adept at proposal evaluation, and assembling complete and competitive RFP bid packages.
