13kV and 69kV Highway Relocation Design – Aerial

electric distribution facilities relocation design

Tangibl completed a design package for relocating 13kV distribution and 69kV subtransmission facilities. The work was required to accommodate a county highway realignment project for an investor-owned utility in the mid-Atlantic region.

The scope included relocation of approximately one mile of distribution facilities, and two different 69kV subtransmission circuits, in accordance with the utility’s construction standards. Over 40 poles were to be replaced within the scope of the project. The project included integrating a solely owned telecommunications pole line, a complex junction pole at a key intersection, and challenging guying where the 69kV subtransmission left public highway and traveled along the road’s former right-of-way. Point and span compatible unit data was organized for entry into the utility’s work management system.
